Other Sole Treadmill Comparison Reviews

Side-By-Side Review

The Sole S77 and the Sole TT8 are the two most high end treadmills from Sole Fitness in the non folding category. Comparing these two treadmills is like comparing a hot fudge sundae with lemon cheesecake, they're both extremely desirable so choosing one out of the two is harder than running a marathon! But hopefully with a little rationality and objectivity, I'll make the choice a little easier for you.

In terms of actual quality and reliability, the gap between these two treadmills is not astoundingly far apart. This is because the more affordable Sole S77 is already very well built for a home treadmill and thus already at a very high level. To improve upon the Sole S77 as in the case of the TT8 with only $400 more, is quite a difficult task. So you end up with the Sole TT8 that's only a minor improvement over the S77 in quality and reliability. There are only a handful (if even!) of treadmills on the market targetted to home buyers that are better than these two Sole treadmills. So if these two treadmills aren't good enough for you, you're going to need to move into the commercial treadmill market.

So what did the company put in the TT8 that they didn't in the Sole S77? The twenty two inch belt is one example. Larger rollers are another. On the surface, that's basically it. In my opinion, charging $400 more for these two things is probably too much profit taking on the company's part but if you're in the splurging mode, the TT8 really is much better to run on with the wider belt and all.

Well it turns out that picking between these two treadmills isn't nearly as difficult as I once thought. The TT8 treadmill from Sole is simply not as good of a deal as the Sole S77. Of course, it's slightly improved in quality and reliability but probably not enough of an improvement to justify the cost. Only for those that can afford and money is not a major factor in their purchasing decision should consider the TT8. For the rest, the Sole S77 is likely to going to make them very happy.

On a somewhat unrelated note, if you can't decide between a sundae and a cheesecake because they taste just as good as the other, the simple way to choose is figure out which one has fewer calories and eat that one. Problem solved.

Winner – Sole S77
