Other Sole Treadmill Comparison Reviews
Side-By-Side ReviewThese two non folding treadmills from Sole are probably overlooked by most buyers. If you look at the specs, you'll quickly discover that the Sole S73 and Sole S77 are great deals and probably even better deals than the Sole F80/F83/F85. One caveat. This doesn't hold true for buyers that require their treadmills to fold.
If you're reading this comparison review right now, congratulations. You're making a good financial decision. Now, let's take an actual look at the differences between these two treadmills.
The more affordable Sole S73 is equipped with a 3.0 HP motor while the Sole S77 is equipped with a 3.5 HP motor. Both treadmills feature the same running surface at 20 X 60. On paper, the Sole S77 has a better belt and motor combo but the Sole S73's 3.0 HP motor rating is already going to more than sufficient for most uses so unless you're going to be running at 10 mph+ for a long period of time, the extra 0.5 HP probably isn't going to matter.
The next thing you should take note of is the user weight difference between these two treadmills. For the Sole S73 it's 350 lbs, for the Sole S77 it's 400 lbs. Now, I know most of you reading this doesn't come close to weighing those above numbers so you may think it's irrelevant to your buying decision. But if you think this way, you're missing out on something very important. A higher weight capacity is indicative of confidence in the quality of the treadmill by the manufacturer. When you have a huge gap of 50 pounds in weight capacity, you can be relatively sure that there's something substantial that makes the company believe the Sole S77 can take on more and heavier beatings. This also doesn't seem to be the case of the company fidgeting around with numbers either because a 50 pound difference is quite a difference. Even the treadmill doctor gave better scores to the Sole S77 than the Sole S73 further affirming my theories.
The above are the major differences between these two non folding Sole treadmills. Which one should you buy? This depends on what your needs are. If you're a casual but regular user, you'll probably find the Sole S73 to be more than sufficient for your needs. The Sole S73 is already a very good machine, just that the Sole S77 is better. If you're somewhat of a running enthusiast, in the long run, you're better off with the Sole S77. The Sole S77 is arguably of the same quality and reliability levels as the F85 with the TT8 being slightly better than these two. But at $100 and $400 less than the F85 and TT8 respectively, the Sole S77 is a much better deal, if not a steal.
Winner – Sole S77
