Side-By-Side Review

If you're considering solely from a quality perspective, the Sole F83 is definitely the better treadmill of the two. But that should not be of any surprise considering that the Sole F63 is anywhere from $800 to $1000 cheaper than the Sole F83 depending on where and when you buy the treadmill from. But does this necessarily mean you should always buy the Sole F83? The obvious answer is no and we'll take a lot at why below.

Even though the Sole F63 treadmill is what many would consider a budget model and is also the most basic offering from Sole Fitness, it is by no means a poor quality machine.

Looking at the specs, you'll see that the Sole F63 comes equipped with a 2.5 HP motor. Using the accepted standard of how a 3.0 HP motor is more than sufficient for regular running, we can say that a 2.5 HP is going to be sufficient for any regular jogger. If you want to keep the Sole F63 treadmill around for a long time, jogging speeds are recommended and anything but occasional running is not recommended. In fact, the Sole F63 treadmill was probably built with this in mind as it comes with a running surface that measures in at 20 X 55. 55" is a good jogging and running length for users of regular heights but taller users might find it's a little short for running although they'll feel totally fine when jogging.

Compared to the Sole F63, the Sole F83 comes with a much beefier motor at 3.0 CHP (that's 20% more horsepower!) The belt is also longer at 58" instead of 55". The added three inches will allow even tall users to run comfortably.

So by looking at just the belt and motor combo, you can conclude that the Sole F83 is fit for all user types and most uses (i.e all uses except something extreme like marathon training) while the Sole F63 is more of a beginner treadmill.

One thing you need to always look at when buying a treadmill is the warranty. This is essentially the shortcut to determine a product's quality. The Sole F83 is 5 years parts and 2 years labor with lifetime frame and motor. The Sole F63 is 3 years parts and 1 year labor. This is a world of difference. If you are debating between these two treadmills and you have the money to spend, the Sole F83 is the obvious better choice.

Winner – Sole F83
