Comparing the Smooth CE 7.4 against the Smooth Agile DMT isn’t quite fair. Even though the Smooth CE7.4 is the top of the line elliptical trainer from Smooth Fitness, it doesn’t quite measure up to the Smooth Agile DMT. This is because the Smooth Agile isn’t an elliptical trainer, it’s…I don’t even know what to call it.
The DMT in Smooth Agile DMT stands for dynamic motion trainer. Unlike a traditional elliptical, the machine doesn’t limit you to one range of motion (i.e straight and narrow) but offers twelve dynamic motions instead. In doing so, more of muscle fibers are recruited resulting in more of a full body workout than even an elliptical. Since it doesn’t limit you to one narrow range of motion, it may also prove to make your workouts more biomechanically correct reducing injury. That’s the gist of what the Smooth Agile DMT offers.
Now you may be wondering whether you should buy the Smooth CE 7.4 or the Smooth Agile DMT. Both machines are great choices and would likely make the buyer very happy but because there is such a price gap between the two, you should read the rest of this review to make sure you’re doing what’s best for not only your physical but also your financial health.
If you’re one of those people where money is absolutely no concern to you and you’re absolutely fascinated by new gadgets and machinery, get the Smooth Agile DMT. There’s pretty much nothing else on the market today with the exception of the Cybex Arc Trainer that might be similar although I haven’t looked into that. Buying it would be the ultimate indulgence at least for fitness equipment. Unfortunately, most of us are in not that fortunate of a financial situation, so we must decide if buying the Smooth Agile DMT is indeed in our best interests.
Most companies selling fitness products and equipment will promise you the world in order to get you to buy. If you don’t know already, you do not need the most expensive piece of fitness equipment to get results. There have long been fit people before there were ellipticals or the Smooth Agile DMT. It doesn’t mean that these machines don’t live up to their promises but rather, you do not necessarily need to have these machines to get you results. You need patience, good nutrition, regular exercise and a proper exercise program designed around your goals. Buying and exercising on the Smooth Agile DMT alone without doing any of the other things I mentioned is unlikely to bring you the results you need. Now, a much more sensible thing to do is invest in a well constructed piece of fitness equipment that can last you a long time. The Smooth CE 7.4 is one such piece of equipment. By being the best elliptical trainer that Smooth Fitness has to offer, it’s at least a few levels above what you see selling at Walmart for $249. If your will to exercise is strong and you are able to apply the right knowledge, you can get the results you want no matter what piece of cardio equipment you buy. The Smooth CE7.4 just makes more sense from a financial standpoint.
