This is the very rare Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs Radio. It came
from the original owner's family. Like most all older radios, it
did not work, had grill cloth that was almost black with dirt, and was
missing the resistance power cord, the dial pointer and the dial cord
was broken. This is a 1939 Emerson Classic radio and the pressed
wood face and case have aged nicely with a golden patina. The case is absolutely original and on a classic radio like this it
would have been a sin to refinish it. But the restorers did replace the grill cloth with a matching swirl pattern of the same
original color. The knobs are both the original wood acorn
type knobs with the pot metal inserts. Even the original back is in perfect
original condition with the Emerson emblem and Q236 model number clearly
showing. Even the screws and hardware all original. The restorers
electrically restored this radio. They replaced and balanced the power system with a UL
approved polarized AC cord. The radio was recapped, restored and is playing very
nicely. To those of you who are "into" antique radios, you
will know the value of this rare find as it deserves to be a highlight
in someone's fabulous collection of antique radios.
