The Bowflex Series 3 treadmill is the most affordable unit while the Bowflex Series 7 is the top of the line unit under the Bowflex brand. But since Bowflex only has three treadmill models out at the moment, the Bowflex Series 3 is really not that much different than the Bowflex Series 7. In this review, we will take a look at the differences between the two treadmills.

First of all, the Bowflex Series 7 is a vastly more popular treadmill than the Bowflex Series 3 treadmill and for good reason too. The Bowflex Series 3 is an entry/budget model while the Bowflex Series 7 sits somewhere in the middle between budget and high end residential treadmills.

On a spec to spec comparison basis, the Bowflex Series 3 features a 1.75 continuous horse power motor while the Bowflex Series 7 is significantly more powerful coming in at 3.0 continuous horse power. Both treadmills feature a treadbelt that measures at 20” across but the Bowflex Series 7 measures in at 60” long compared to the 54” of the Bowflex Series 3. In terms of speed, the Bowflex Series 7 can go all the way up to 11 miles per hour compared to the 10 miles per hour on the Series 3.

Not surprisingly, you see the Bowflex Series 7 treadmill being superior than the Bowflex Series 3 in other areas as well. For example, there are significantly more workout programs (15) compared to the six on the Series 3. If you get easily bored, these extra programs will surely help alleviate the boredom.

Usually, the warranty is telling of the quality of the machine. Glancing at the warranty lengths of the two Bowflexs, they’re actually exactly the same. Consider that both treadmills have a $400 price gap at a price point where a few hundred dollars make a huge difference in quality, equal warranties suggest that they’re of equal (good/bad) quality.

Although there have been a significant number of reviews on Amazon for both treadmills, you really have to wonder how many of them are authentic. It should also be noted that despite receiving glowing reviews from customers, many of them probably haven’t used them for a significant amount of time to attest to its quality. If you’re looking for a machine that can outlast you, neither the Series 3 nor the Series 7 should be on your list.
