The Smooth 9.45TV and the Smooth 9.45ST are the latest and most high end models even released by Smooth Fitness. In fact, they just came out around October/November of 2007. This makes these two treadmills the newest and most expensive machines on the block. But the question remains. Does new and pricy equal a good buy?

The Differences

The Smooth 9.45TV treadmill as the name would suggest, comes equipped with a TV. This isn’t just the regular built in TVs that you normally see on older high end models, this is a beautiful 15” LCD TV mounted right in front of you. So when you’re running, you’re looking forward not downward.

Besides the TV, there really is nothing that differentiates the Smooth 9.45TV treadmill from the Smooth 9.45ST treadmill. If the TV in 9.45TV means television, then the ST in 9.45ST probably means STandalone.

What This Means For You

As these models are newly released, there really is no actual field data that tells us how the treadmill will perform in the long run. As the treadmills are priced at more than $3000, you are buying a certain level of quality but how it performs against other similarly priced treadmill models from other brands is hard to say. Your guess is as good as anyone’s.

The main thing you have to decide is whether you think the LCD TV is worth $500 which is the price difference between the Smooth 9.45TV and the Smooth 9.45ST.
