This is the 'photophone' movie version of the classic 44, and it sounds amazing as always!
Here it is, the old classic RCA PB-144a. This is the Hollywood version of the 44. These were used in movies, and were always completely black (including the screen cloth) so as not to reflect light while in use as a boom mic. We have done a complete museum quality restoration on this microphone and it looks brand new! Of course, it sounds beautiful as a studio mic as we have also installed a new old stock RCA 44 type ribbon! It's perfect in nearly any application, such as:
