Up for sale is “Noble,” our Mooney M20G Statesman.
Noble has been well maintained and was owned by the same gentleman
for the past 20 years. Unfortunately, the 92 year old owner lost his
medical forever and was forced to put Noble up for sale before his wife
made an expensive lamp out of him. He is a great performing aircraft
having just completed a trip from Lakeland, Florida to Greenwood,
Indiana (770 nm) in less than 5 ½ hours, cruising at an average speed
of 140+ knots and burning less than 10 gph. In 2004, there was a
gear-up landing that resulted in new belly skins, a freshly overhauled engine to new parts limits
in Zephyrhills, and the installation of a new Hartzell 3 blade
propeller with a chrome spinner. In addition, Noble has just completed
a very thorough annual inspection on November 1, 2007. Noble has only
4400 TTAF and 45 SMOH – he is ready to give you many, many years of
flying enjoyment!.
Noble likes to fly high and fast. He is quite frugal in his fuel
and oil usage. Noble is a true cross country airplane that leaps off
the runway with great power to spare. The M20G is the 10” stretched
version of the classic Mooney M20C, so there is plenty of room in the
back seat for passengers.
The avionics stack in Noble is average. He has mostly Narco radios
and one VOR/NAV. The Lowrance 2000C color GPS shown in the pictures IS
included and is an invaluable tool for flying. He would be a great
plane for a pilot who likes to fly fast (don’t we all?), and
economically. Equipped with the infamous Johnson Bar manual gear
mechanism, you won’t have the expense of maintaining electric and
hydraulic systems, and the annuals will be much easier for your
mechanic (translation = cheaper for you).

Exterior:
The paint is in very nice condition overall and I would rate it as
much better than average. There are a couple of touch-up spots here and
there on the fuselage and wings.
Interior:
The interior is in above average shape. The seats are firm and
comfortable, and appear to have newer covers on them. The headliner is
in better than average condition with four (4) air vents. There is a
nice padded glare shield pad over the panel. The carpeting is in good
condition and is showing its age.
Damage History/Corrosion:
The best outside source for damage history event reporting is on
the NTSB website. Simply enter Noble’s registration number, and any
NTSB reports will be made available. FYI: He does not show up on any
accident or damage report queries on the FAA website; however, the logs
indicate there was a gear-up landing in 1979 and the one mentioned
above. The logs show all repairs were made with new factory parts. We
could not find any reports of corrosion, and there is an entry for
Corrosion X treatment in 1996. Noble received a clean bill of health
during his last annual this past month. Listed at Aircraft4Auction.com
