In addition to the personal training programs, the Proform FX5 Elliptical also measures your heart rate through the EKG Heart Rate Monitor and a Target Pacer. Like many other Proform models, this elliptical also comes with Coolaire fans to keep you cool throughout your gruesome workout. The FX 5 Elliptical also comes with a spiffy blue backlit clearview console where you can see and set your resistance level via the SMR or Silent Magnetic Resistance system.
With a 16” stride, this Proform elliptical is suited more for shorter users. The 275 pound weight capacity would also indicate that this is one of the lower end Proform models sold today. Finally, the frame is only warranted for 7 years which is short by Proform’s standards. All these points would indicate that for the serious and extreme user, you would need to pay more for a model that is better than the Proform FX5 elliptical.
